Car Audio Door Soundproofing Kits
Our Car Audio Door Kits will significantly improve the quality of sound from your door's speakers, insulate the door for heat, and reduce overall noise into the vehicle. The typical door cavity acts like an empty room, bouncing sound waves back into the speakers and creating echos that distort your music. The doors are also one of the loudest parts of the vehicle, and are fortunately one of the easiest parts of the car to access. The Car Audio Door Kit has everything you need for a car door sound deadening project!

Installation Instructions
All Car Door Kits:
- Remove the plastic door panel and any vapor barriers or liners.
- Damplifier Pro™ should be adhered directly to the door's metal. Cut with a utility knife and roll on with the hand roller.
- The outside metal is often unsupported and very floppy, so you'll want more coverage there.
- The inside metal (where the lock and window mechanisms are) is more reinforced and needs less coverage.
- We recommend at least 60% coverage on the outer door metal and 40% coverage on the inner metal.
- Speaker Tweakers should be adhered 3 to 8 inches behind the speaker with the ridges facing the speaker. Use Super Strong Tape or super glue as an adhesive.
OverKill Pro™ Door Kits:
- To stop rattling plastic, install OverKill Pro™ between the metal door skin and the plastic panel. By filling that space, we can isolate (or decouple) the two hard surfaces and prevent the hard surfaces for rattling against each other.
- For rattling areas where you don't have 3/8" of clearance, switch to the thinner OverKill™ closed cell foam or force the OverKill Pro™ to compress.
- The key to the best results is to fill open spaces and minimize contact points between two hard surfaces. OverKill Pro™ can be used anywhere you have plastic panels!
- See this video to watch Jeffrey Hald, a pro installer, show how to install OverKill Pro™ in a car door.
- Alternate strategy: Apply OverKill Pro™ directly on top of Damplifier Pro™ inside the door cavity. Even though it's closed cell foam (and not as absorptive as Mega Zorbe™), it will cover the very reflective metal to reduce reverb - similar to putting a carpet in an empty room.
Luxury Liner Pro™ Door Kits:
- Sealing up the door cavity with a dense barrier is the best overall method to soundproof a car door.
- Use Luxury Liner Pro™ to turn your door into a speaker box and increase mid bass.
- We recommend adhering the Luxury Liner Pro™ mechanically or with Dual Lock™ reclosable fasteners to completely seal the opening.
- See this video to watch Mark at CarAudioFabrication install Luxury Liner Pro™ in a car door.
- Alternate strategy: Apply Luxury Liner Pro™ directly on top of Damplifier Pro™ inside the door cavity with 100% coverage. Luxury Liner Pro™ is the best automotive sound barrier for stopping sound from getting through the door.
Mega Zorbe™ Door Kits:
- Adding Mega Zorbe™ inside the door cavity is the most effective treatment for improving car audio. It's also an excellent approach for general door noise reduction.
- Apply Mega Zorbe™ directly on top inside the door cavity with 80-100% coverage. It's an easy peel and stick application.
- Because Mega Zorbe™ is hydrophobic, there are no water exposure concerns. Water flecks right off.
- See this video to watch T-Fade at Everyday Audios install Mega Zorbe™ in a car door.
- Alternate strategy: Combine Mega Zorbe™ inside the door cavity with Luxury Liner Pro™ to seal the door cavity for the best possible car audio.
